2 Cheneys? how scary is that?

EJ Dionne from the Washington Post wrote today that he agreed with Dick Cheney. Vice president Cheney stated that Russia had fallen back from some of the principles of democracy (no real surprise. We’ve noticed this for over three years). I guess the real surprise is the fact that the Bush administration noticed.
One has to wonder why now? Why would Cheney rattle Russia’s cage now? We need Russia to help put pressure on Iran but yet we are pointing out how they are backsliding on human rights and democracy? Someone explain this to me.
