Countdown: The Truth about the Foley blowup

Hastert is pointing fingers at the Dem’s.  Is this right?  Did the Dem’s sit on this information and spring it now for an October surprise as Mr. Hastert as stated?  Horse hockey!

Where’s the Outrage? 9/30/06

Representative Susan Fisher is back in the house.  We interview Doug Jones who is running for the 114th district which includes Buncombe County.  The Detainee Detention bill was just passed by the Congress.  Well, they can’t be called a do nothing Congress any more.  They just tore up the constitution like it was an old math workbook.  Everybody should have the right to a fair trial.  Everyone!!  Oh, and don’t think we don’t have a few things to say about Congressman Mark Foley.  We discuss this and more…

John Jordan “Buck” O’Neil dies at age 94

From: http://www.nlbpa.com

One of the greatest players in Negro Baseball leagues history (or any League) has died.  More here and here.  Nice synopsis of his career can be found here.  What a great man!  He will be missed.  He was very active in the Kansas City area up until the time when he got ill about a month ago.

He became “famous” at the age of 84 when we was featured in Ken Burn’s Baseball.  Besides playing in and managing in the Negro Baseball League, he was the first Black scout for a major league team.  He found Lou Brock and Ernie Banks.  He “played” in or was featured in the MLB All-Star game this year.  Buck just missed being voted into the Hall of Fame by one vote this year. Keith Olbermann had a little something to say about that.  He was a very remarkable man.  Buck O’Neil.  (The ESPN click below really does not do Buck O’Neil justice.  Unfortunately, it is the only clip that I can find at this time.)
