I thought that Bush looked into Putin’s heart

Maybe our President needs new glasses. Maybe he doesn’t know what he is looking at when he sees a heart. I don’t know but I’m sure President Bush and VP Cheney were not happy with Putin’s latest statement.

Oh, btw, I agree with Putin. We have encouraged North Korea and Iran to develop nuclear weapons.

From CNN.com:

Russian President Vladimir Putin blasted the United States Saturday for the “almost uncontained” use of force in the world, and for encouraging other countries to acquire nuclear weapons.

He also criticized U.S. plans for missile defense systems and NATO’s expansion.

Putin told a security forum attracting top officials that “we are witnessing an almost uncontained hyper use of force in international relations” and that “one state, the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way.

“This is very dangerous, nobody feels secure anymore because nobody can hide behind international law,” Putin told the gathering.

Putin did not elaborate on specifics and did not mention the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan.

But he voiced concern about U.S. plans to build a missile defense system in eastern Europe — likely in Poland and the Czech Republic — and the expansion of NATO as possible challenges to Russia.

On the missile defense system, Putin said: “I don’t want to accuse anyone of being aggressive” but suggested it would seriously change the balance of power and could provoke an unspecified response.

“That balance will be upset completely and one side will have a feeling of complete security and given a free hand in local, and probably in global, conflicts…” he said. “We need to respond to this.”

“The process of NATO expansion has nothing to do with modernization of the alliance or with ensuring security in Europe,” Putin said. “On the contrary, it is a serious factor provoking reduction of mutual trust.” (more…)

  1. The sad part is it is true and he will gain support for speaking up against the US. We already have enough of our allies that have spoken against us. This will just justify them arming the smaller more unstable countries. I am sure if Gates were to dig far enough he would find Russian technology or Russian weapons in the roadside bombs. Does this make us at war with Russia also? The different news agencies ( that I have read)print in small notes at the end of the articles. That they don’t know where the bombs are coming from specifically. They could be bought on the black market. We already know that the US has lost at least 8 billion dollars. To me that would seem like it alot of money to buy the bombs. Gates works for Bush and is trying to get support for the continued war. So why not implicate Iran without solid proof that it came from the Iran politicians.
