Where's the Outrage?

I think that the data is clear. PTSD can happen to anyone. Post traumatic stress syndrome. If there is a way to decrease the intensity of the combat and the frequency then you can decrease the incidence but that’s not the direction that our troops are heading. Secretary Gates announced that each tour of duty will be longer and not shorter. With the surge, there is no doubt that our soldiers will be the thick of it more often.

PTSD comes in many forms. It appears that the number sexual assaults have increased in the military. This will be non-combat PTSD. These soldiers will need treatment also.

We have a great country. It is blessed with a very diverse group of people. Unfortunately, some of us don’t like diversity. We don’t want to change. We want to keep things just the way they were back when Jim Crow ruled. This is no surprise. Remember the rumor on the street about Colin Powell running for President was that his wife thought that he would be killed. CBS had to close comments on Obama stories because the racist remarks came fast and furious. I had heard thru the grapevine that Obama had increased his security shortly after he announced that he was running for president because of racist threats.

We have come so far but we really have so far to go!

The Army was looking at an Israeli system but instead the Army asked a familiar name in contracting to build a system from scratch.

BTW, why don’t we have anti-RPG system already?  Black Hawk Down was in 1993 wasn’t it?  RPG’s took out 2 helicopters in Black Hawk Down didn’t they? I don’t understand.

Who? Who’s Jerry Miller? Jerry Miller was a nobody, going nowhere. He was in prison for sexual assault for which he was convicted in 1981. He was pulled out of home at the time of his arrest. He is also the 200 person set free by DNA evidence. This man spent 25 years behind bars. 25 years!!! He had served his time.

Bill Moyers does another great interview. This one will bring tears to your eyes. Jerry Miller is a guy who in spite of being locked up for 25 years, he remains a positive person. For more on this interview go here.
