Hurricane Dean
With Hurricane Dean showing some slight movement towards Texas overnight, I’m hording food and arming myself.
I’ve got three cans of sardines that are good for at least another year. Though, I had been hoping to toss the sardines into the Houston Ship Channel to see if that water had the right mix of petrochemicals to reanimate the fish.
As for weapons, I’ve got some holiday scented room spray from Pier 1 that I’m hoping looters will mistake for pepper spray.
Actually, the wife and I went shopping for hurricane supplies a few weeks back. Click here for a list of things you’ll need if a hurricane comes your way. It is a serious matter.
Update: I added some video now that it looks that Hurricane Dean is serious. TL, friend and co-blogger, be safe!!

Shouldn’t they have life jackets on that list just in case you have to cross flooded areas? Take Care
That is why I moved to the mountains of W. NC… it is gonna take a big storm surge to get me here.
Isn’t that the water that killed the fish in the first place?
Usually, I will ask folks in danger to stay low but I’m guessing that you will need to stay high. That doens’t sound right.
The storm is inclined towards Mexico at the moment as I get home from work. For whatever these forecasts are worth. I wish it would just go away and not hit anybody. You don’t want it to go away from your area just to see somebody else get socked.
Margaret—Maybe so.
Bill—Up in the mountains—Was that Union territory to a degree in the Civil War?
Errington—If anything I’m eating comes from the ship channel–well that’s trouble. I think my sardines come from Norway or something like that.
I don’t really need to go higher or lower. I’m fine where I am. Did not flood from the 36 inches of rain from TS Allison 6 years ago.
Thanks to all for comments.

Dean is starting to look VERY serious. I’ll add some video to this post.
Be safe!!!
It’s folks down in Mexico who are going to get it. Near me, Galveston is pulling back from full hurricane measures.
Somebody is going to get it.
Glad y’all will miss it.
