Why are we talking about an ad in the NY Times? We should be talking about the Surge and how can we bring our troops home. Markos does a great job at redirecting the conversation to the real point.
After listening to the dialogue on NPR I was quite amused by how much attention was brought on the ad. The NYTimes was loving it they probably sold a lot of papers. Someone in congress should have pointed out that is what america is all about. Being able to run an ad against the administration. Isn’t that what we are suppose to fighting for that kind of liberty and freedoms to be able to do just that. I think it just upset the republicans because they are on the wrong end of all this and had an opportunity for the country to hear them speak out. Otherwise I don’t think anyone would have cared about the ad. I didn’t hear anyone appologize for all the former military people who said the same thing. I wanted to hear for myself what they were going to say. I was very disheartened to find out that he did an interview with FOX. Now I don’t believe anything the man has said. This whole thing is soooo very sad. Not just for our troops but for all the refugees, killed civilians, terrorized people in that country. I like alot of other people were just hoping for something instead of patience just one more year.
if you raise the troop level by 30K and then cut the troop level by 30K one year later (by August or July of 2008), this is STAY THE COURSE.
