Blackwater banned from Iraq
This is a very interesting development. For some reason, if you set up and independent government they start working independently.
Update: Clearly I was mistaken. I used the word independent and (Iraqi) government in the same sentence. Faster than you can say Iraqi outrage, the Iraqi government seems to be back trackin’. Blackwater is sort banned. Like C3PO in the Empire Strikes Back, when he wanders into that room, Storm Troopers, here. I have to warn the others. Then he gets blasted. I’m sure that someone in the White House or State Department or Pentagon or all three called Prime Minister Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Consider his jets cooled.

Iraq’s Interior Ministry has revoked the license of Blackwater USA, an American security firm whose contractors are blamed for a Sunday gunbattle in Baghdad that left eight civilians dead.
Blackwater, one of many security firms contracted by the U.S. government during the Iraq war, provides protection for American diplomats.
Sunday’s firefight took place near Nusoor Square, an area that straddles the predominantly Sunni Arab neighborhoods of Mansour and Yarmouk. (more…)
I thought Blackwater was hired to provide protection to diplomats and others in Iraq. According to the news story their convoy was fired upon, Balckwater returned fire, killing several people, and the government is upset. It sounds to me like they were doing their job, and unfortunately when you live in a war zone, somebody’s gonna get hurt. If Blackwater is being kicked out because of this, why are the US soldiers allowed to stay. Iraq should kick them out too.
Maybe I dont understand. Our civilians were fired upon, they returned fire, and they are the ones in trouble. HOW STUPID…..
The enemy beheads our citizens and we do nothing. Our citizens kill to protect themselves. Are the Iraq officials going to look into these beheadings and bring someone to justice?
If a contractor or soldier gets fired upon, our government needs to level the place. Let everyone know. Im sure that these poor innocent people are the ones firing on our people. Lets quit playing at war and really go towar. Let our people do their job and by no means spend my tax money to rebuild them.
Gee you guys throw the term “contractor” around so much it sounds like they’re building a house. Got news for you. They’re just mercenaries with little to answer for and the sooner they are detained/ deported/ convicted/ shot, all the better. One more slimy US tactic in the war against communism… er I mean drugs… oops …. I mean WMDs….. uh, terrorism. That’s the ticket!
