MoveOn fights back

MoveOn.org is an organization that I like. They respond to their members. They poll their members. They are in touch with their members. MoveOn has been taking the heat for an ad that they put in the NY Times about General Petraeus cooking the books. Giuliani got into the act. MoveOn and their members fight back.
I, too, appreciate and support the work of MoveOn.org. I also appreciate their surveying members this week about the Petraeus ad. My comments to them are that we have to keep truth out in the open, but that we avoid demonizing anyone. When we label anyone as a “betrayer” or as “evil” or even as “dangerous,” we operate in the shallow and murky waters of “right and wrong” warmongers. Let’s keep the discussions open, avoid name-calling and hold General Petraeus to higher ethical standards than the many who have hidden the truth!
