MTP – Obama – Gay marriage

This was one of those issues that could have sunk a lesser candidate.  Barack Obama supports John Lewis’ statement but he doesn’t go so far as to sink his candidacy.  This is a hot topic.  He does a very good job of confronting this issue.  Gay Marriage is a deal breaker for some.  Obama strongly supports civil unions because that’s the only responsible middle ground.  Anything else and you’re in homophobic territory or you’re against Christian teachings.

    I think Obama is going to surprise everyone in January. He is calm and gets his message across with a straight forward answer. Hillary seems to dodge anything that someone might pin her too later if she changes her mind.

    It is always the right time to support gay marriage because it is always the right time to give people all the freedoms the simple of fact of existing in this world merits.

    That is why King used to talk about the “urgency of now” and why he called one of his books “Why We Can’t We Wait.”
