Romney labeled by right wing

It is pretty ugly when you are from a party with dirty tricks and their tricks are being used against you.  Mitt Romney is being labeled by a right wing group as a flip-flopper on a Woman’s Right to Chose.  It is hard for me to criticize them because they are right.  It is my opinion that Romney will do whatever it takes and say whatever needs to be said in order to win the election.  Remember this gem.

  1. Which presidential candidate has signed or proposed the budget containing the highest percentage of contraception funding? Which candidate for every other office? especially MUNICIPAL offices? I believe that for the US presidency, the answer is probably Guliani, which would also be my favorite kind of contraception funding, the MUNICIPAL kind. However, Guliani may have signed such budgets more as a result of his NYC context and NYC precedents established before his tenancy as mayor than out of any unshakable personal conviction which would transfer to his federal budget proposals. So my question remains.
As for Romney’s flip flopping, when a candidate flipflops, one can never know his true position for sure, but I believe that as a Mormon with a big family, he is telling the truth now and was therefore lying as Governor of MA. I Further believe that MA voters essentially knew this, but realized that with a hugely Democratic legislature, Romney would be unable to threaten MA abortion funding even from the governor’s office.

Careful with so many links. Spam programs throw out comments with more than 2 or 3 links.

I’m sorry I really don’t care what his true beliefs are since he will blow with the wind. Heck, who knows? He is hoping that you will assume this position is his “real” position. Personally, I think that he is a political opportunist.

  3. Romney also states “HE” saved the olympics in Utah. Utahns made the 2002 olympics succeed. We Utahns needed a fresh face and perfect hair to take away the scandal from the previous organizers. He had both. He likes to tell people look how HE saved them. But the truth is the huge volunteer effort and funding and budgets were already set in place when he came on board. He just had the personality to make the scandals go away. He will take credit where ever he can.

  4. Republicans for Choice, a “right wing group?”

So many politicians have changed their views on abortion that I hardly think this will hurt Romney. Reagan, B. Clinton and A. Gore all changed their position on abortion during their careers.

I think for the flip flopping argument to work, the politician really has to flub the question in the campaign. Kerry had problems with the war question. I think he also had a tough time with the abortion question even though he had a pro-choice record. The personally oppose but… is a tough sell and usually leave both sides dissatisfied.

    H. Clinton had her moment on the driver license issue for illegal aliens and has never fully recovered.

As far as social conservatism, Romney hasn’t been a willow blowing in the wind in Massachusetts. He fought the courts on same sex marriage and the legislature on ESCR funding.

I don’t think that the ad will send social conservatives running to Rudy. I imagine the strategy is to reduce Romney’s Big Mo in Iowa and NH so that he won’t look too strong before Rudy G has a chance in New York.

Social conservatives are running to Huckabee.

BTW, where were your comments on this and this? I was really looking for someone to tell me that this guy isn’t an empty suit.
