Obama - Oprah
There has been a lot of discussion about what Oprah Winfrey will mean to Barack Obama’s campaign. First of all, Oprah isn’t like any other celebrity. She isn’t the Hollywood type that comes with all of the liberal Hollywood stereotypes. That’s a plus. Secondly, the media is pushing that Oprah reaches 8 - 9 million households per day. I would multiple that number by 2 or 3. Even if someone didn’t see a particular episode of Oprah her friends did. Soon, there’s a phone call, “Did you see who Oprah had on yesterday?” Finally, Oprah has a long history of delivering the goods for her audience. Whether it is books that they like or the best turkey to order or whatever, Oprah has a history of delivering and not letting her audience down. Oprah’s endorsement is HUGE.
Finally, the Hillary Clinton and John Edward camp have been thinking about how to respond. I’m not sure that there is an answer for Oprah. I know that you can’t attack Oprah. Folks have tried over the years and it hasn’t worked out so well for them.

I do not understand how Oprah can support a person running for any elected office, especially President of the United States of America, who can’t recite the Pledge of Allegiance while placing his hand over his heart.

Thanks for your comments. You have moved me to write a post on this subject.
I think Oprah needs to support Obama more on the campaign trail otherwise the first black presidential candiate that actually has a shot well be out of the race before he knows it.
People have very short attention spans.
