Cowboys lose T.O. in a win over Carolina
I’m going to try not to break my arm while patting myself on my back. I said that Marion Barber and Julius Jones needed to step up. They did. They ran for a combined 135 yards on 31 attempts. I also said that Patrick Crayton and Sam Herd needed to step up. They combined for 10 catches for 115 yards. The Dallas Cowboys took care of business against the Carolina Panthers. Terrell Owens got hurt on a catch over the middle (the extent of his injury is unknown. x-rays are negative. MRI on Monday.) but other than that the Dallas Cowboys looked okay. The defense was solid. Carolina was starting their 4th quarterback of the season. Steve Smith, who pound for pound, maybe the best player in the NFL, caught his first touchdown pass in 6 or 8 weeks. The defense controlled Carolina for the most part. My predictions were right. Final score Dallas 20 - 13.
If you are looking for problems in the Cowboy armor then the offense really didn’t do anything once Terrell Owens was hurt. No touchdowns. One field goal. This could be a problem if T.O.’s injury is serious.
Big question - What does Dallas do next week? We play the Washington Redskins in DC. Tony Romo is still nursing a bruised thumb. Terrell Owens is trying to heal something. Should Jason Whitten play?
