You must admit that in todays environment eliminating the income tax is a radial idea. It is one that the average voter doesn’t consider to be reasonable. If you have any polling data to show that I’m wrong, I would be happy to see it.

The Cato Institute (conservative think tank) has a blog in which a post looks at Ron Paul’s proposal. Although the author is salivating while he is typing his analysis he also admits that the average American voter isn’t paying this. The author calls this a failure of the voter and not Ron Paul.

I’m not saying that Ron Paul isn’t a smart guy. I’m saying that he wants to roll the clock back to 1920 or so. We can’t go back. The country was different back then. We didn’t have turnpikes which need to be maintained. We had very high “I can’t read” rates. There was no assistance to farmers who had a flood or drought.

What Ron Paul would like to do is turn over much of the federal government to the states. This would cause some states to raise taxes in some way and other states to say forget it we can’t afford it. This would cause a huge problem in my book.

With regard to the income tax, I will post some of Ron Paul’s interview with Tim Russert last on today. Here’s the problem as I see it, Ron Paul wants to eliminate income tax. That’s $1.1 trillion dollars of revenue!! That’s all of the US government’s discretionary spending – military, education, highways, everything but social security and Medicare. He has yet to provide any specifics on how to make up over a trillion dollars. Where he is going to cut billions in programs to make up the short fall? Exactly, what taxes is he going to add? What would increase excise taxes and property taxes, as Ron Paul has proposed, do to the economy?

I’m not sure how this was debunked. After reading your comment I did some additional research because I really don’t want to post something that false or a lie. I’m not sure what employee you are talking about. In 1984, Ron Paul gave up his congressional seat only to return in 1997 (this is according to his web site). So, I don’t think that anyone was writing for him at the time but again, I may be wrong. Also, there is a 1996 article in the Houston Chronicle which does anything but debunk this. Paul didn’t mention any staffer. Instead, “Paul said allegations about his writings amounted to name-calling by the Democrats and that his opponents should focus instead on how to shrink government spending and reform welfare.”

Eliminating the Federal personal income tax (not corporate income tax) is entirely feasible. There was a study done by Reagan administration to find out where your money goes in regards to the income tax. “The Grace Commission confirms the allegation that the income tax revenues go 100% to pay the interest on the national debt and not a single nickel of it goes to the government. Whatever government services we have, they are not being financed by the income tax.”

Ron Paul has studied economics for decades and knows his stuff. He sits in front of Ben Bernanke of the Federal Reserve and drills him about monetary policy. People better start listening to Paul, because this dollar crises coupled with the banking situation is a path to destruction and is going to affect YOUR wealth in a big way. Listen to Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers and above all Ron Paul.

Despite not writing this, Paul did apologize since it did come from an employee.

Paul is the GOP candidate with the strongest support from the black vote, and is the only one that addressed unfair enforcement of the law on minorities in the Morgan State Debate which no one saw cause it isn’t one of the mainstream debates. (check youtube.com)
