medicale--You're right about it being loud. Noise of one kind or another never let up. And you're right about it being an event at this point as much as a game.

I once went to a Houston Texans football game and it was the loudest damn thing I ever heard. Noise. Noise. Noise.

However, the Houston Astros cut down on music between pitches this year and it made a big difference.

Thanks for the comment and have a good New Year.

Pro sports has changed quite a bit, eh? We used to walk up on game day (NFL) in this case, and buy tickets same day. Years later, attended an NBA game, and found the experience much like you did.
Corp. I worked for gave out free tickets for us wage slaves. Found the experience loud, raucous, but fun. Exciting to see superstars in person. No, I won't pay for pro sports tickets today, but it was neat-o to go.
We have all the sports packages one could possibly have via satellite anyway.
Sports outings are a spectacle, an outing, a special event occurrence now, and I like it that way. They can keep their inflated ticket prices!
