Kerry Endorses Obama
How important is it that John Kerry get the Barack Obama endorsement? I don’t know. The one thing that we know about Iowa was that Barack is clearly a viable candidate. I think that this does hurt John Edwards more than it hurts Hillary Clinton. Add this to Barack Obama’s growing list of endorsements - The Culinary Workers Union and Service Employees International Union of Nevada and Obama looks better and better.
Update: I forgot that Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) endorsed Obama yesterday.

From NYT:
Senator John Kerry embraced the presidential candidacy of Senator Barack Obama here on Thursday, saying Mr. Obama “had the greatest potential to lead a transformation, not just a transition.”
“Who better than Barack Obama to bring new credibility to America’s role in the world and help restore our moral authority?” Mr. Kerry said, speaking at a rally at the College of Charleston. “Who better than Barack Obama to turn a new page in American politics, so that Democrats, independents and Republicans alike can look to the leadership that unites to find common ground.” (more…)

Not sure on this one. I didn’t like Kerry. Around here it was a worse of 2 people. I know alot of democrats that just didn’t think he knew what he was doing. So I don’t see him as a plus. Now if Richardson had supported him then it would be big. But I wish they would just the people vote instead of trying to tell everyone who has won ahead of time.

Kerry is plenty smart. He is a terrible public speaker. He was also run over by the far right propaganda machine.
Shortly after the 2004 election, I was having lunch with a friend’s daughter. She was 24. We started talking about politics and she said,”I just didn’t think that Kerry was ready to be president.” Wasn’t ready? this is a guy who has been a great senator for over 20 years. He was a DA and a congressman. What more training did she think that he needed? She swallowed the right wing crap hook, line and sinker.
Thanks for your comments.
I liked Kerry…until he singlehandedly added a new vocab. word: Verb: ‘Swiftboat’. Never thought he got a fair shake.
Personally, he did what IRONICALLY few neocons have done, and that is to actually serve Vietnam.
I also like his subdued intellectual way of speaking…think opposite of being screamed at by ye local news and FauxNoise.
Kerry definitely possesses political experience. Agree w/ Dr. T that he is not a great public speaker.
I will have to say living in such a republican state that maybe I didn’t very much. I have gotten alot more involved in politics. I probably didn’t give him a fair shake. My son was in Iraq and had other things on my mine. Now I am trying to keep him from having to go back.
I still voted for Kerry but I didn’t think he had enough support. Maybe it was the red state influence.
