Countdown - So what happens after Super Tuesday

Keith Olbermann discusses the confusion that will come out of Super Tuesday. I think that this will be good for the both parties. Please note how the Republicans keep reflecting backward to a better happier time. The Democrats are looking forward. This is a great thing. I hope that the trend continues.

BTW, I’m still in the airport.

Blogging from the Atlanta Airport

I’m still here and I’m still lovin’ it.  NOT!  The good news, is that I do have a boarding pass.  The bad news is that the plane will not leave for another 3 1/2 hours.

Obama supporter named in a corruption case

I’m a firm believer in preventing negative waves during a campaign.  You just never know what the press is going to do with the information no matter how well you handle it.  Barack Obama supporter Tony Rezko has been named in a corruption and fraud case.  Obama is not accused of doing anything wrong.  As a matter of fact he is not named in the indictment.  More information about the federal indictment here.

I don’t think that this will be a big deal for Obama but like everything he will need to manage this very carefully.

Clinton appears to have won Nevada

hillary-nevada Clinton appears to have won NevadaCurrently, Hillary Clinton has 52% of the vote and Barack Obama has 44% of the vote. The entrance polls are interesting. Important candidate quality - 24% said experience and of those the majority thought Hillary Clinton had the most experience. I continue to find the experience question interesting. What experience does Hillary had that John Edwards or Barack Obama don’t have? I’m just asking because I don’t know the answer. Being First Lady does what? I makes you qualified to be First Lady doesn’t it?

Hillary, Barack and John have all been senators. So, why does Hillary get the experience nod?

Update:  Romney won the Republican Caucus.

Update II:  Now, the spin.  Hillary is on a roll.   Hillary has won 2 in row.   In my opinion, if Barack Obama wants to win he needs to be firm, positive and clear with the voters.  He needs to point out lies when they come up but stay positive.  He has to do better in the debates.  He appears bland.  He also needs to do better with woman and folks over 45.  I’m not sure what John Edwards can do.  I think his message is right on.  I think that he is fighting the right fight.  For reasons, that aren’t clear, the public just isn’t flocking to him.  Hillary seems to be playing more of the divide and conquer.  Maybe I’m wrong.  I think that she has some great ideas but she really isn’t running on them.

McCain and our economy

With the economy in the tank, we should look at the opinions of some of the presidential candidates.  John McCain is in the middle of his own surge.  He got a big boost from this win in New Hampshire.  He did very well in Michigan, Romney’s birth state.  So, what has McCain said about the economy?

I guess the answer is - it depends.  There is this great quote, “The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should.”   In South Carolina John McCain proposed no immediate relief for you and me, but more tax cuts for business.  I guess McCain believes that record corporate profits aren’t enough.  They need more money in spite of the fact that those profits have not translated into increased wages for the average worker.

I guess one thing that we can rely on - there is no corporate tax that should be cut (republican motto).

Why I hate traveling

Snow in Atlanta

Over the past 4 - 5 years, it has gotten harder and harder to travel.  I’m not sure why this is but it is.  I’m currently chillin’ in the Atlanta airport.  Originally, I was schedule to fly into Atlanta at 10 something this morning.  I was flying out at 11 something.  I would be at home by 1 pm at the latest.  I got an e-mail last night from Delta so that I could check it.  During the check in process I found out the one of my flights was cancelled.  After 45 minutes on the phone with someone who spoke English as their second language, I had a new schedule.  I would have to get up at the crack of dawn but I would be at home even earlier.  I was going to be a pain to get up at Oh-dark thirty but it would work out.

I arrive at the airport just before 7 am.  I’m almost 2 hours early.  Thank god because my connecting flight was cancelled.  There is a snow storm that was going to hit Atlanta and Delta was canceling flights from about 10am - 4 pm.  Nothing in or out of Atlanta.  Well, that leaves me with over 10 hours of chillin’ at the Atlanta airport.

Oh, there were several options but none of them were good.  The best was the suggestion by the ticket agent who asked if I wanted to drive to Daytona Beach and fly out of there verses flying out of Jacksonville.   I asked if he was serious.  I thought that was a crazy idea.

Welcome to my world.
