Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight

Phil Collins is one of my all-time favorite artists. For a time in the 80’s, he was on a serious roll. He peaked in the late 80’s. He had a ton of top 10 hits. Anyway, his first hit that I can remember was from 1981, In the Air Tonight. Just a great tune.
Artist? Phil Collins? Seriously, ARTIST? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha………whew! Oh man, am I exhausted after that laugh. Phil Collins, artist. That was seriously funny.

I don’t know. I’m thinking that in spite of his lack of talent or because of it he made a ton of money and has recorded some songs that will not be forgotten any time soon. Sure, a ton of his ballads were so full of sap that you can hardly listen to them.
On the other hand, he had a killer horn section that was as good as any in the business - the Phoenix horns from Earth, Wind and Fire. Oh, as a drummer, he is better than most.
