Obama aid resigns
Okay, here’s the difference that I see - Hillary Clinton has personally compared Barack Obama to George W. Bush, Karl Rove and Ken Starr. Yet, the Clinton camp was quick to put out another question for money with this pitch -
Just one day after Senator Obama promised to begin attacking Hillary, a senior Obama advisor has called her a “monster.”
That’s right — a “monster.”
At the same time, Senator Obama’s aides have begun rehashing the old negative attacks of the 90’s against Hillary.
This is not the politics of hope — it’s the usual attack style politics that we have seen time and time again.
And it must stop.
Please notice that nowhere did he mention that Hillary Clinton was doing the same thing. Nowhere does he mention that Hillary was planning on stopping.
So, what happened? Samantha Powers, a foreign policy adviser, told a Scottish newspaper that “She is a monster, too — that is off the record — she is stooping to anything.” What happens in Scotland clearly doesn’t stay in Scotland. Quicker than you can say, “Oh, bugger.” The US newspapers were running with this story. Of course, Hillary Clinton’s crew jumped on the bandwagon. What they don’t mention is that the remark was suppose to be off the record. Does that excuse the reference? No. When you are talking to reporters you have to understand that you need to be careful how you phrase things. This is a given. Ms. Powers is a journalist by trade! She knew better. She has resigned. Her statement was perfect.
This is exactly what the republicans are hoping for the nastiness to come out. This is sad and I hope it stops.

Here’s the only problem with this theory, how did the Clintons get into the society? These are well educated lawyers from Arkansas. They are not like the Bushes. They are born into money or into elite status. How did they get in? Wouldn’t the members of such a society work to exclude non-upper class folks like the Clintons?

Maybe the Clintons “are not [exactly] like the Bushes.” But they’re getting more like them daily.
The only thing I haven’t heard anyone say yet about this mess is that Powers’ statements weren’t true.
Hillary will continue to slash away at Obama. Then she’ll argue to superdelegates that Obama is too politically weakened and bloodied up to be “given” the nomination he earned by popular vote.
Bad as it sounds to say, if the amoral Hillary Clinton is the nominee, I’m inclined not to vote for her. She has become McCain’s most valuable asset.

Firing Powers was a mistake, Obama has shown himself to be subservient to the PIAPS.
Great post. Obama’s aide was right. Hillary is a monster. Of course not the same kind of monster as Hitler, Mao or Stalin, but a monster nonetheless.
