Countdown - Special Comment - Ferraro
I had so much respect for Geraldine Ferraro. Gone. It was gone in an instant. It is amazing to me how someone who appeared to have so much insight could be so tone deaf. I understand that she has cancer. The chemotherapy can be terrible. It is clear that brain function can be effected. I’m not trying to give her excuses I’m trying to explain something that appears so out of character.
I’ll have more later. Yes, she has stepped down but I think that there is more to say about Hillary Clinton and her followers. I believe they really agree with Ms. Ferraro. I don’t think that Ms. Ferraro is in some type of Chemo haze. I think that she really feels this way.
I think that if you look at my side bar you see 60 or 70 categories. You see Race but you don’t see anything on Sexism. Does Ms. Ferraro therefore conclude that I’m a sexist?
I would like to avoid and condemn those that would like to rank discrimination. Racism is worse than sexism or the other way around. They are all bad. They all need to be confronted. They needed to wiped out of existence. Ranking them is worthless. It serves no propose other than to divide those who would like to fight all discrimination.

From WaPo:
Geraldine Ferraro has relinquished her position on the Clinton campaign after causing a firestorm with her remarks that Sen. Barack Obama is only where he is politically because he is a black man.
A senior Clinton adviser said no one on the campaign forced Ferraro to quit the finance committee. “Nobody told her to step down,” the adviser said, adding that it might have been counterproductive to try to tell her what to do, given how off-the-reservation Ferraro had been in recent days. (more…)

I don’t usually place anything under the video. I would like to make an exception in this case. Keith Olbermann’s Special Commentary was so good, that I think it is important for me to highlight it and publish a segment of it.
From MSNBC:
Senator, as it has reached its apex in their tone-deaf, arrogant and insensitive reaction to the remarks of Geraldine Ferraro, your own advisers are slowly killing your chances to become president.
Senator, their words, and your own, are now slowly killing the chances for any Democrat to become president.
In your tepid response to this Ferraro disaster, you may sincerely think you are disenthralling an enchanted media and righting an unfair advance bestowed on Sen. Obama.
You may think the matter has closed with Rep. Ferraro’s bitter, almost threatening resignation.
But in fact, Senator, you are now campaigning as if Barack Obama were the Democrat and you were the Republican.
As Shakespeare wrote, Senator, that way madness lies. (more…)
