Senate Dems Roll Over for Bush

I have talked about the FISA legislation ad naseum. When people say that we need a third party that truly represents the people, this is what they mean. The Democrats have just gave President Bush everything that he could have possibly wished for. Progressives and the Fourth Amendment lost. Americans lost, but the telecoms won.
Glenn Greenwald has a long and thoughtful discussion on Congress and what the ACLU is planning.
Perhaps the bush administration is tapping the phones of the senators and congress. I am sure they have enough dirt on them to roll over…its the only explanation I buy…
so much for looking for real terrorists…
ps…would any proported “real” terrorist still use a phone knowing that it would / could even potentially be tapped?

In the Borne Movies Jason Bourne just used throw away phones. Gee could other people do that too.

I don’t think that this is about Al Qaeda or terrorism, I think that is just the selling point, I think that this is about spying on businesses. I think that this is about businesses who support the Bush administration having a leg up on their competition.
I may be wrong but then again, I may be right.
