McCain Can’t Answer Birth Control Question
Now, I don’t want to judge Senator John McCain’s motivations, but how can you not support legislation that requires an insurance who covers Viagra to also cover birth control pills? Can some one explain this to me? The best part of this was John McCain’s response to a reporter’s question.
No Show for Rove
Karl Rove has been asked to testify in front of the House. He didn’t say no. He just didn’t show. It is now time for the House and Congress to step up and not only find that Karl Rove is in contempt but also find a mechanism to arrest him!

Former White House adviser Karl Rove defied a congressional subpoena and refused to testify Thursday about allegations of political pressure at the Justice Department, including whether he influenced the prosecution of a former Democratic governor of Alabama.
Rep. Linda Sanchez, chairman of a House subcommittee, ruled with backing from fellow Democrats on the panel that Rove was breaking the law by refusing to cooperate _ perhaps the first step toward holding him in contempt of Congress.
The White House has cited executive privilege as a reason he and others who serve or served in the administration should not testify, arguing that internal administration communications are confidential and that Congress cannot compel officials to testify. Rove says he is bound to follow the White House’s guidance, although he has offered to answer questions specifically on the Siegelman case _ but only with no transcript taken and not under oath. Are We Not Listening to Obama?
Great OpEd in the New York Times on Senator Barack Obama. It clearly needs to be read -
We have to have a talk about Barack Obama.
I know, I know. You’re upset. You think the guy you fell in love with last spring is spending the summer flip-flopping his way to the right. Drifting to the center. Going all moderate on you. So you’re withholding the love. Also possibly the money.
I feel your pain. I just don’t know what candidate you’re talking about.
Think back. Why, exactly, did you prefer Obama over Hillary Clinton in the first place? Their policies were almost identical — except his health care proposal was more conservative. You liked Barack because you thought he could get us past the old brain-dead politics, right? He talked — and talked and talked — about how there were going to be no more red states and blue states, how he was going to bring Americans together, including Republicans and Democrats.
Exactly where did everybody think this gathering was going to take place? Left field? (more… )
