No Show for Rove

Karl Rove has been asked to testify in front of the House. He didn’t say no. He just didn’t show. It is now time for the House and Congress to step up and not only find that Karl Rove is in contempt but also find a mechanism to arrest him!

From the Washington Post:

Former White House adviser Karl Rove defied a congressional subpoena and refused to testify Thursday about allegations of political pressure at the Justice Department, including whether he influenced the prosecution of a former Democratic governor of Alabama.

Rep. Linda Sanchez, chairman of a House subcommittee, ruled with backing from fellow Democrats on the panel that Rove was breaking the law by refusing to cooperate _ perhaps the first step toward holding him in contempt of Congress.

The White House has cited executive privilege as a reason he and others who serve or served in the administration should not testify, arguing that internal administration communications are confidential and that Congress cannot compel officials to testify. Rove says he is bound to follow the White House’s guidance, although he has offered to answer questions specifically on the Siegelman case _ but only with no transcript taken and not under oath.     I would consider it a badge of honor to be held in contempt of Congress, and given current approval ratings, the vast of America holds Congress in contempt. I know I do.

    I don’t think that approval ratings truly reflect the behavior of Congress. I don’t think that most Americans can tell you 3 pieces of legislation that have been passed or denied by Congress. On the other hand, I think that approval ratings reflect the mood of the country more than anything else. I don’t think that folks are happy. Maybe Phil Gramm is right we are a country of whiners. Naw, he is almost never right.

    To all of you goofy idiots who think that Karl Rove is a War Criminal, and want him arrested, all I can say is….How does it feel to want.

    I’m not sure that anyone has said that Karl Rove is a War Criminal. I think that he has illegally manipulated our system of government and broken many laws. That would make him just a plain old criminal.
