Models of Personal Responsibility

I thought that these social conservatives were supposed to be models of personal responsibility? Abstinence education, which Sarah Palin supports? I’m guessing that didn’t work. It never worked. After throwing millions of dollars into the abstinence education, the rate of teenage pregnancies hasn’t dropped.
Here’s the problem: Whenever you try to keep information away from people, it always backfires. If you give teenagers the information about sex, sexually transmitted diseases, and the like then let their parents give them the moral backbone, things will work out much better.

and that doesn’t seem to have affected the rates of pregnancy either… per your own admission.
So… where are the falling rates of pregnancy with sex ed — the solution that “works out much better”? Let’s hear about it!

The part that is missing is the parents part. I have seen the data from the Heritage foundation. It isn’t completely hot air.
Educate children. Give them parental direction and children grow up to do great things.
The no sex crowd (maybe they should be labelled no educate crowd) is supposed to be family focused. They are producing as many lock key children as everyone else. In order to prevent pregnancies the parents have to active in their children’s lifes. There has to be honest discussion. There should be no doubt that teenagers are primed for sex.

This Palin nomination has made for many amusing moments on the Left.
First, I guess the Palins are attacked as hypocrites (Models of Responsibilty).
Is Gov. Palin irresponsible because her 17 year old daughter is pregnant? How responsible was Sen Obama at 17? As I recall Sen. Obama had his own problems at 17.
Still, the young woman decided not to hide her embarrassment and kill the child. Yea, that is taking some personal responsibility.
Then there is the sneer at Abstinence Only (or Before Marriage) Education. Of course one must assume that Gov Palin’s children had such education. More likely, they have had the same sex education as 90% of the other unwed pregnant mothers, John Edwards and Jesse Jackson.
