Joe the Plumber to Cover War

For reasons that are 100% unclear to me, someone has hired Samuel Wurzelbacher to cover the war in Gaza. No, really.

From AP:

Joe The Plumber is putting down his wrenches and picking up a reporter’s notebook.

The Ohio man who became a household name during the presidential campaign says he is heading to Israel as a war correspondent for the conservative Web site pjtv.com.

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher says he’ll spend 10 days covering the fighting. (more… )

Jon Stewart and the Daily Show has more. Watch the whole clip, including Joe the Plumber’s answer as to how he will be protected while covering the war.

When conventional methods fail, why not go the unconventional route ?
The plumber may succeed a little where others, “more qualified” have failed…
And because Joe is a plumber(given that this is true) does not mean that he is stupid..
    We shall see.

So now Joe the Plumber, who wasn’t actually a plumber, is Joe the War Correspondent. Why not? That’s no sillier an idea than Sarah Palin as vice president. Or George W. Bush as president. America has become a place where any idiot can say they’re qualified for anything. Nobody has the balls to laugh them off the stage.

    Adrian –

I guess it is because I don’t think that Joe the Plumber has any deep insight into anything. He has taken the spotlight and run with it. I don’t believe that his answers to reporters questions were thoughtful. Maybe it was the questions.

    You are right we’ll see.

    I wish him well.

The reporters questions to Joe the Plumber..
I know little or nothing about this…I hope he did better than Caroline Kennedy is purported to have done..
