Are You Happy Now???
I’m sure the Republican Party is happy now that President Obama has voiced his opinion a little more regarding the events in Iran. For the past few days Obama has been highly criticized for his lack of words in his initial response to the turmoil surrounding the recent Iranian presidential election.
Tuesday, the president reveled that he was “appalled and outraged” by the actions and injustice towards Iranian protesters and even went as far as saying Iranian leaders will face consequences if this type of activity continues. Although Obama mentioned there’s potential for consequences, he failed to mention what those potential consequences would be from the U.S. The president did add that it is not too late for Iranian leaders to choose a peaceful approach and hope they choose to do so.
I’m sure most people have probably seen or heard of the disturbing video of Neda, an Iranian woman shot to death while protesting with her father. The video has reached worldwide on the news and internet and shows the young woman dying on the street. If nothing else touches the hearts of the world this video should. A young woman dying because of her willingness to stand up and voice her opinion for what she believed. Really, where is freedom of speech and democracy Iran???
I just hope America doesn’t end up trying to be superman to Iran because remember people we’re already fighting what seems to be a never ending war in Iraq.
