If the girl didn't have time to repent and beg God's mercy for what just took place then he DID NOT take her home. She is in hell for her un-repented sin. Steve is in the same hell if he had not repented for the adultery he was involved in. Not to mention he was drunk at the time! Bible says NO SIN shall enter in. The world is decieved in believing that you can have sin in your life and still make heaven your home. God forgives us from our sins…not in our sins. Bible also says you will know him because you will be just like him…..did JESUS have sin in his life? Then neither can we. Bottom line, regardless of who Steve McNair was, if he had sin in his life when he took his last breath then he lifted his eyes in hell !

So saying he is not in hell would be calling God a liar. The sad part is McNair has nobody to blame but himself. Steve McNair is in hell because he loved his sinful ways more than God.

If he would have repented and gone back to his wife he would still be alive today.

Sorry – but it is easy to predict what he was doing in his last hours on earth – he was with his girlfriend, being out on the town with her, as well as in his bachelor apartment . Yes, it is between he and his God – but adultery is in the top 10. This was not his first cheating experience. What about the stripper who said she had an affair with his for 6 years? You are right he was dumb and stupid, and did not care about anyone but himself. He had 4 sons what do you think they will take from this experience? However he is not the lone ranger – I sincerely hope anyone who is living a double life learns from this experience. Vince Young be careful – – please don’t have any more babies with groupies – you have a loyal beautiful girlfriend as well – by the way Steve was no hero.

It doesn’t matter if Steve was a wealthy athlete, famous or not-he was a married man. We as human being should have respect for ourselves and others. It deeply saddens me to think about this tragedy-so unneccessary and pointless to lose a life because of a dumb and stupid act of selfishness. My heart goes out to his beautiful widow,Mechelle and their children. I truly hope that people, expecially men will learn from this. It’s not our place to say that Steve McNair should burn in hell. We don’t know what happened in the hours or minutes before he was murdered. Pehaps he repented and asked for forgiveness–that is between him and God….

I am so sorry for his children, but I am a little sick of hearing that his wife did not know her husband was a cheat. If Steve was seen all over town with this woman – she had to know something. Mechelle appears to be intelligent, so why is she playing this role.? Surely this was not the first woman he cheated with – only the first one to kill him. Take the money and buy yourself some happiness. Every women eventually knows when her man is cheating – whether she wants to admit it or not. Steve had his own place, co-bought his woman a truck, and had no problem being seen with her and her family in public. Good bye and have a good time in hell. P.S. Warren Moon is a sorry dog to, these men care about no one but themselves – their children have to forever live with this shame and curse all of their lives. Satin Steve is NO hero.

The tragedy is two people are dead, lives cut short for nothing, one famous one not famous and we all have made mistakes-let he or she who is without sin cast the first stone….this did not sound like a new situation for McNair-he and his wife have two children together-who are the mothers of the other sons?-obviously there were other women. And it was well known he was “around” other women routinely. Women seeking to be in the company of someone famous and wealthy, why? Because they are famous and wealthy. Well, being famous and wealthy can be a very lonely and empty place despite the adoration.

This young woman was 20 years old, today that is like an adolescent from when those of us in our 40s were 20!

May God have mercy on both of his children and take them home…it is all so sad and such a sad commentary on our priorities in this society…

We are not preaching nor judging because we are not perfect nor without sin. The point was raised by this author was a valid point about his provision for his family and that the hardest part was over….we just echoed on this point and concurred with the author! I made the point about mentoring hoping it would help other men…and women who may find themselves in the same situation. It’s not too late for others too change as it is unfortunately for Steve. God is bing enough to care for his wife and children and we’re praying that He does just that because He can do what we can’t do in this time of need! Blessings….

I’m not preaching. I’m simply stating a fact. McNair, who I admired as a player, failed in his primary responsibility. This isn’t anything other than fact. I do feel deeply sorry that Steve didn’t live up to his obligations.

Debra….you are so far off base. The point most people are trying to make is that if Steve would have been spending as much time taking care of his home as he spent chasing women or girls, then he would not have died this shameful death. It sounds to me that his family lost him long before he was shot. People murder everyday, people molest children everyday, people steal everyday……does that make it right or o.k.?E ven if his wife knew, does that lessen Steve’s responsibility to his family? Oh, I forgot….he is a “celebrity” so of course it does. What are we going to do to reach out to his family? Hummm let me see, as much as he did while he was alive, look out for ourselves!!!!! Have a nice day!!!!!

What happened to Steve McNair is indeed a tragedy however, you self righteous people should keep your mouth closed! Why is it that most people have so much advice after the fact when you don’t know and never will know the truth. Men and women cheat everyday ,some of you who have so much to say right now have been a victim and also been the cheater you just didn’t get caught! We make choices that are not always in our best interest because we don’t always know what to do even though it may appear that we do. Someone else knew about this affair also, As quiet as it’s being kept this alleged affair wasn’t a secret and dont be surprised when you find out that His wife knew. We can speculate all day and make judgement calls but the end result is: Steve McNair is dead, A family is without a husband and father, How will you reach out to the family and Kids afterall, he once reached out to help the people and community around him!

I am a devoiced father of two boys. Steve Mcnair was a role modle for my older son steven. My son played quaterback, and wore the number (9) like (Air McNair). I have struggle with the role of being a father. I never had my father in my life, so i believe that i over compenstated! To say Steve Mcnair lost track of his true fatherly duties is a understatement.

My son will start college this fall. His desire is to be come a Dentist. There is a quote that i tell him all the time, and it does apply in this case. ” don’t be ashame of yourself, Make sure that what you do in your private life what destroy your public life.

Steve McNair lost touch with what was really important! His wife and children! He and his wife should have sought Christian counseling. The top two problems that divide marriages: Sex and Finances. All of which can be dealt with by communicating with your spouse.

Excellent article sir and I feel you were dead on. McNair had accomplished the thing that most of us chase daily (financial security)…he gave that up for a few moments of pleasure which will cause his family a lifetime of pain! Too bad he surrounded himself with too many “yes men” and not a real mentor who would get in his face and kick him in his rear and challenge him about being a real man and not just a jock!

To me it didn’t matter that he was a 36 yo man. He could have been 46 or 56. He needed to take care the most important things in his life – his children and he didn’t. That’s my point.

Knowing that this is prevalent in the sports and even music and other entertainment; and, even political arenas is what should make grown men behave much more responsibly; and, stop falling privy to every little temptation that comes their way. Most women are seeking the same things in a man that their wives want. Thinking an outside woman want to be kept on the outside of his life, and receive kibbles and bits, but give him everything he desire from her is lopsided; and unrealistic thinking. It would be a very good thing to see that men (whatever their race or profession) are willing to turn down propositions that will get them into trouble with their futures, their marriages, and their families. People today are so flagrantly loose about the things they do. It is just a shame that people don’t have any scruples anymore. It makes me nauseated to see so much willingness to go against what is simply right.
