Look at what is happening in Mass.  A huge increase in medical spending since they passed their healthcare reform.  You are 100% correct that the insurance companies will try to extract more money from the American public.  They are rewarded NOT for providing service but for making money.  Because of the model that we have in this country, the insurance companies need to keep investors and big business happy not individual customers.

		<description>I submit that healthcare reform without the public option will give the insurance companies a license to steal.   When the requirement to cover pre-existing conditions plus not being allowed to drop coverage takes place, the insurance companies will be handed a justification for raising premiums even higher.</description>
