Yes, I heard what he said.

He signalled the enemy that he’s coming in for a short period, then leaving.

All they have to do is wait it out.

Obama will order the troops to leave just in time for the 2012 elections and say ‘well, we tried our best but it just took too long and cost too much to win. Oh well.’

I’m not advocating nation building.

Let them rebuild their own nation at their own expense and if it takes 100 years, so be it. They’ll think twice before harboring terrorists next time.

I would ask you to read or listen to the speech again. He laid out 3 goals. If we accomplish 1 and 2 then we can to do #3.

Waiting is a great strategy, if you don’t get a smart bomb up your butt in the mean time.

I figure if we could beat the Germans in 4 years, we should be able to beat the Taliban in less time. But it really doesn’t matter what Obama said, conservatives wouldn’t be happy.

Obama signaled the opposition that he would temporarily increase troop levels only to pull out a short time later.

If I were on the opposition, I’d be very pleased. All I’d have to do is wait it out a bit.
